MIC MIA People Mover
BPA was part of the Construction Quality Control Team making this project possible. This project connects the Miami International Airport (MIA) with the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) and the Rental Car Facility (RCF). This project consisted in the design, construction, operation and maintainance of an elevated automated people mover system for a total of 1.27 miles, between MIA and the MIC. This project is also known as the extension of the “Orange Line” which connects the Earlington Heights metro rail station to the MIC. This contract has a total construction duration of 3 years and a construction cost of $270M.
